An Inquiry in Five Parts

Project Enlightenment

How power and fiction have always worked — from the first sacred lie to the artificial intelligence that could shatter them all.

The Machine The Counter-Voice

↓ The Overview

A single argument, traced through the whole of history: the same capacity that lets us cooperate is the one that lets us be divided and ruled.

This project brings together four interconnected essays and a sourcebook. They tell one story: how shared fictions — gods, blood, money, nations — became instruments of power; how "divide and rule" is not a secret plan but a discovered lever of our tribal psychology; why the lie survives even in the age of free knowledge; and how the same mechanism keeps running today, in new costumes.

The common thread is a pendulum swing: between the Machine that consolidates power and the Counter-Voice — Buddha, Jesus, Gandhi and their modern heirs — that exposes the mechanism. This is not conspiracy thinking: what is remarkable is open, legal and traceable — and powerful precisely because of that.

Part III

The Same Machine, New Costumes
